Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has called for the impeachment of US President Joe Biden, claiming he should be impeached for visiting Ukraine on Presidents’ Day. Biden’s visit to the war-torn country was his first since Russia invaded Ukraine nearly a year ago. During the visit, Biden promised additional sanctions for Russia and new military assistance for Ukraine.
In a tweet, Taylor Green criticized Biden for not visiting East Palestine, Ohio on Presidents’ Day, instead of going to Ukraine, a non-NATO nation. She also claimed that Ukraine’s leader, an actor, was commanding the US military to go to war. She concluded by saying that the president must be impeached before it’s too late.
“We must impeach this America Last fool before it’s too late,” wrote Taylor Green.
Florida Representative Matt Gaetz and Ron DeSantis, a likely candidate for the Republican Party for the 2024 elections, also criticized Biden for neglecting America.

“On Presidents’ Day, I’m not surprised that Biden is ditching America for Ukraine,” tweeted Gaetz.
“Biden was neglecting America,” said DeSantis.
Many commentators took issue with Taylor Green’s statements, with some reminding her that Ronald Reagan, an actor, had previously served as president. Some were supportive of her views.
“I have an idea. You and Trump go and visit Putin. Let’s see how that goes,” wrote one Twitter user.
“We didn’t elect him in the first place,” wrote another.
Biden’s visit to Ukraine was significant, as American presidents do not typically visit active war zones without a significant US military presence. The visit was intended to boost Kyiv, with Biden stating that “Kyiv stands. And Ukraine stands. Democracy stands.”
“This is a moment to demonstrate the resilience of democracies in the face of aggression,” Biden added.
This is not the first time Taylor Greene has called for Biden’s impeachment, as she previously criticized him for bringing home Brittney Griner and for classified documents from his time as vice president.
“I’m calling for Joe Biden to be impeached for his dereliction of duty, bringing home women’s basketball player Brittney Griner from the Olympics,” said Taylor Greene in August 2021.
Taylor Green’s tweet regarding Biden’s visit to Ukraine has received nearly 5,000 retweets and over half a million views. On the same day, she also tweeted about a “national divorce,” suggesting that the US should be separated by red and blue states and that the federal government should be shrunk. She had previously shared this idea in 2021.
