“It might finally be happening!”: Trump Might Be Held Accountable, and Women Are the Ones Taking Him Down

Former President Donald Trump was invited to testify before a New York City grand jury. Trump’s lawyer said prosecutors are investigating hush money Trump allegedly gave to Stormy Daniels, an adult entertainment star.

The New York Times broke the story, adding that the former President is facing criminal inquiries about his activities before, during, and after his presidency.

The Defamation Case Also Moves Forward

In a defamation case, The Manhattan judge allowed columnist E. Jean Carroll, who claimed that she was raped by the former President in the 90s, to use the “Access Hollywood” tape in her case.

The judge also rejected to block the columnist from using the deposition of two other women who formerly accused him of assaults, Politico reported.

Trump Could Be The First US President To Be Indicted

His lawyer said Stephanie Clifford, Story Daniels’ real name, victimized the former President.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office allegedly called Trump to testify next week.

This offer to speak before the Grand Jury is often the last step before a criminal indictment in New York state.

While formal indictment is weeks away, Donald Trump could be the first US President to be indicted.

It is implausible that Trump will appear in front of the grand jury. However, in weeks behind us, former Trump campaign officials and business managers went to the DA’s office in Lower Manhattan to testify.

The Infamous 2005 Tapes Allowed To Be Used At The Defamation Trial

In a defamation case, US District Judge Lewis Kaplan said that “a jury reasonably could find, even from the ‘Access Hollywood’ tape alone, that Mr. Trump admitted in the ‘Access Hollywood’ tape that he, in fact, has had contact with women’s genitalia in the past without their consent, or that he has attempted to do so.”

The tape Kaplan referred to was from 2005, and Trump infamously said, “When you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the pu**y. You can do anything.”

Though it is a defamation case, Judge Kaplan cited that to “prevail on her libel claim, Ms. Carroll must prove that Mr. Trump sexually assaulted her.”

Two other women mentioned in this case are Jessica Leeds and Natasha Stoynoff. Leeds claimed that she was assaulted on a plane. Stoynoff alleged that she was attacked while writing a story for People magazine.

Both alleged assaults happened before Trump was elected in 2016.

Georgia Investigation Is On-Going

In Fulton County, Georgia, prosecutors have been investigating Trump and his allies in their attempt to overturn the 2020 elections.

Justice Department special counsel is examining Donald Trump’s role in the attack on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, and how he handled classified material after he left office.

Cohen Speaks Up

Trump’s former personal attorney Michael Cohen has yet to testify in front of the grand jury. He said: “I have to applaud District Attorney Bragg for allowing Donald to come in and tell his story.”

The lawyer added, “Knowing Donald as well as I do, understand that he doesn’t tell the truth. It’s one thing to turn around and to lie on your ‘Untruth Social,’ and it’s another thing to turn around and to lie before a grand jury.”

Asked whether the invitation for Trump to testify in front of the grand jury may suggest an indictment is near, Cohen stated, “That seems to be the general consensus.”
