A woman from Utah married her high school bully, who tormented her for three months when she was 15.
Lauren Enslow, 20, talked about her husband, Lucas Olsen, 21, saying, “I can call him my high school bully and high school sweetheart.”
Young Lucas compared his now-wife to a cartoon character. He and his friends called her Linda, after the cartoon character from Bob’s Burgers. She hated her now husband for comparing her to Linda:
“At this point, I hated him. I wanted nothing to do with him.”
Lauren hated this attention even more since he filmed her in the hallways and posted the videos on Snapchat.
However, she forgave him:
“I have forgiven him. I’ll still tease him about it sometimes.”
Their story took a turn after Lauren was in a car accident with her mom and sister.
In November 2017, Lauren, her mom Jessica Enslow, 48, and her sister, Alyssa Kimber, 28, were in a parking lot and spotted Lucas.
Lauren says:
“My sister thought it was funny to roll down the window and call out his name. Seconds later, we were in a car crash.”
Luckily, no one was severely injured, though the cars were messed up. This was when Lucas started to change:
“He asked if I was OK. It showed he cared. It helped me like him again.”
Lauren says she “got a soft spot for him when he reached out after my accident.”
Lucas stopped the teasing, and the two developed a friendship. After a couple of months, in February 2018, Lucas and Lauren started dating.
The couple got engaged in July 2022.
Lauren claims many people would not forgive Lucas, but “I can’t base his personality off who he was for three months when he was 16.”

Lucas finds his behavior “silly.” He explained: “When you are that young, you think things like that are funny. And, of course, me and my friends thought it was funny.”
Lucas also claims he never thought Lauren looked like a cartoon character, but it became a joke “that ended up going a little too far.”
He also believes peer pressure played a part in his behavior: “I teased her because, at the moment, I think it was a mix of because I liked her and because my friends were doing it as well. Peer pressure, in a way.”
Lauren recalled the proposal, “He took me to a top of a mountain to see some fireworks.”
Lucas got down on one knee, though Lauren already knew the proposal was in the air.
She said: “I had been a bit suspicious but still very shocked when it actually happened.”
Lucas was over the moon when Lauren accepted his proposal and is planning their future.
The young man said: “I’m a strong believer that everything happens for a reason, and I love that it finally happened.”
“Marrying your high school sweetheart is the most beautiful thing I could ever dream for.”
He praised his new bride:
“Lauren is awesome, and I couldn’t ask for a better person to experience the rest of my life with.”
The 21-year-old wants a family with Lauren and is excited “to build a house and watch the rest of our dreams come true.”
The couple tied the knot in October 2022.
