Trump is leading in crucial swing states, Arizona and Georgia, the same states that helped the 45th president beat Hillary Clinton.
Trump vs. Biden in Arizona and Georgia
The polling data from Redfield & Wilton Strategies, in partnership with The Telegraph, suggested that in Arizona, Trump is leading by 5 points, 44 to 39 percent. In Georgia, the gap is even more narrow, only 3 points or 43 to 40 percent.
The race for Pennsylvania
In Pennsylvania, Biden is beating Trump by only one point. Trump won the state in 2016 despite traditionally voting for Democrats, unlike Georgia or Arizona. Biden won Pennsylvania by 1.2 percent, while his victories in Arizona and Georgia were 0.3 percent and 0.2 percent, respectively.
Michigan is tied
Biden and Trump carry 41 percent each in Michigan, a state that Trump got in 2016 by 0.2 percent. However, Biden’s victory was more transparent, with 2.8 percent.
Trump is standing still in the states he previously won
Florida and North Carolina turned to Trump in 2016 and again in the 2020 elections. It comes as no surprise that he has a considerable lead in these two states.
Biden has a positive approval rating
A recent survey suggested that Biden finally has a positive approval rating of 49 percent compared to 48. However, the vital question for the President is his age, despite Trump being only three years younger.
Biden’s approval is expected to rise
Biden even got praise from some Republicans over his response to the Israel-Hamas war, while Trump’s Palm Beach speech came with a backlash. Trump said Hezbollah was “very smart,” raised an old rift with Netanyahu, and called Israel’s defense minister, Yoav Gallant, a “jerk.”
Trump backtracked
Trump criticized how American universities responded, writing on Truth Social, “What happened in Israel was barbaric! Now, American Universities are allowing or enabling the open hatred against Israel and America! Instead of educating our young Americans, Deans stand idly by while subversive groups are calling for a National Day of Resistance. Not only is this antisemitic, it is also anti-American.”
Trump had more to say
The former president continued, “We banned Nazis, banned Communists, it is about time that we remove these antisemites from our schools, or is the Cancel Culture only used against Conservatives?” Still, Trump’s speech in Florida raised eyebrows, and even Lindsay Graham, Trump’s ally, called it a “huge mistake.”
Haley also slammed Trump
Trump’s former United Nations ambassador, Nikki Haley, who is challenging him for the Republican 2024 nomination, strongly condemned Trump’s remarks, saying, “That makes America look weak.” She added, “This is not the time to bash a leader.”
A New York Republican spoke up
“Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, the greatest state sponsor of terrorism, these are states and entities that are focused on wiping Israel off the face of the earth. That is neither smart nor good,” Representative Mike Lawler, a New York Republican, told NBC News.
Israeli Communications Minister blasted Trump
Israeli Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi denounced Trump’s remarks. “(It is) shameful that a man like that, a former US president, abets propaganda and disseminates things that wound the spirit of Israel’s fighters and its citizens,” Karhi told Israel’s Channel 13.
Not impressed
“We don’t have to bother with him and the nonsense he spouts,” Karhi added.
