After ABC News dropped a bombshell report claiming that Trump’s attorney Jennifer Little “very clearly” warned the former president about a subpoena regarding classified documents, a legal expert said it was “bullseye for prosecutors.”
Little and another lawyer met with Trump
The report says that Little and another Trump attorney, Evan Corcoran, met with him after he was subpoenaed and warned the former president, “Once this is signed – if anything else is located – it’s going to be a crime.” Little reportedly said that Trump “absolutely” understood the consequences, and CNN legal analyst Elie Honig commented on the report.
Honig called it a “bullseye for prosecutors”
The legal analyst shared, “It’s a bullseye for prosecutors and right down the middle of what they have to prove for obstruction of justice.” The former federal prosecutor continued, “Let’s remember that it’s the federal Mar-a-Lago classified documents case. Part of the indictment relates to the mishandling of classified documents, part of it relates to obstruction of justice.”

“If you’re a prosecutor and you have to prove obstruction, you have to show that the defendant, in this case Donald Trump, knew he had a subpoena, knew he had to comply and intentionally did not do so, and this witness, Trump’s former and, by the way, current lawyer, has told the grand jury straight up, no ambiguity, ‘You have to comply, if you don’t, it’s a crime,’ and he said, ‘I got it, I understand,'” Honig added.

Honig concluded, “If the jury accepts that, game over, he’s guilty.” Social media users, however, are worried about the Judge in this case, with one Reddit user saying, “Please. Aileen Cannon is in Trump’s pocket. She will do everything to delay this case until after the election.” Another added, “The problem is that the documents case will likely never see a trial.”
