Far-right Patriot Front marched through the National Mall and downtown Washington, D.C., last month. They stumbled upon a man on his bicycle who said he needed to say something.
Masked men and flags held upside down
The group of approximately 150 men shouted racist slogans during their march through the National Mall. Joe Flood heard the far-right extremists were in the area, so he rushed to “greet” them.
The police followed the group
Luckily for Flood, the police forces surrounded the so-called Patriot Front members, described as a “white nationalist hate group” and “image-obsessed organization.”
Flood’s taunts were genius
The man shouted, “Your mom hates you,” and “You’re sloppy,” among other childish things, while one group member was giving a speech. Flood also said, “Cargo pants are out,” and “You were the losers of your high school.”
Poking fun during breaks
Flood told MSNBC that a guy was “giving a speech, and he kept having to stop and pull his speech out of his pocket.” He continued, “Every time he stopped, I would yell at him, tell him he was boring.”
Flood had more to add
The man continued, “Why can’t you memorize the speech,” and then told him, “You look like General Custer’s illegitimate son.” Flood added, “The guy sighed and looked at me. And I thought, ‘I got you. I got in your head. Now get out of my town,’”
The marchers were embarrassing
On Twitter, Flood shared that the whole scene was “embarrassing,” adding they all looked like “cosplaying incels.”
Who is behind the Patriot Front?
Per Southern Poverty Law Center, this is a hate group of white nationalists, an “image-obsessed organization” that “focuses on theatrical rhetoric and activism that can be easily distributed as propaganda for its chapters across the country.”
Alarming rise in far-right activity
The manifest of the Patriot Front is “for the formation of a white ethnostate,” the Southern Poverty Law Center writes. However, there is a disturbing rise in white nationalism, whose values correspond with Nazi Germany.
More of Flood’s naughty comments
The man with a red bicycle also shouted, “You are not even matching. You all got different types of pants on, reclaim your virginity,” and more.
Conspiracy theorists
As if a march of a hate group was not enough, some online conspiracy theorists believe that the man marching were actually FBI agents because they all looked “a little too uniform to me, to be authentic.” Interestingly, the same was repeated this month when people waved the Nazi flags in front of Disney.
Joe Rogan joined them
Commenting on a video of the march during an episode of his podcast, Rogan said, “Look at these guys, where’s the fat people? How come they’re all wearing the same clothes?”
Rogan continued
The host added, “How do they all have like uniform outfits on? They have the same color pants for the most part. Very little variation. They’ve tan or brown pants, dark blue shirts with a stupid flag on it.”
The Nazis wore uniforms
And so did the infamous Klan, which also promoted similar beliefs. But what do you think? Was this some grand conspiracy? Or was the conspiracy made up to make people feel less scared of the times we live in?
