President Biden’s odd, often bizarre expressions leave his aids struggling to explain what the president wanted to say, and often, they never get to know the truth behind his words.
God save the Queen
After discussing gun control, the president said, “God save the Queen, man.” He also said this in 2017 when as vice president, he confirmed the results of the 2016 presidential election. Regarding the recent incident, one of the White House staffers said it was in response to something someone from the crowd said.
Irish heritage
Axios also mentioned that it could have something to do with Biden’s Irish heritage, though the part of the British anthem after the Queen has been dead for a while remains a mystery. If Biden used it sarcastically, it would make more sense if he had said, “God save the King” in 2023.
A message to the Republican lawmakers
This year, the president’s State of the Union message to Republican lawmakers was, “Lots of luck in your senior year.” Some suggested it was his way of saying, “Good luck with that,” but most officials are just as confused as the rest of the public.
The John Wayne movie scene
In a recent speech, Biden said, “That’s the truth, now? Don’t make a lie — there’s that scene in the John Wayne movie, ‘Don’t make me a dog-face lying pony soldier.'” He said a similar expression in 2020, repeatedly claiming it was a line from a John Wayne film. But Wayne never said it, nor was he in “Pony Soldier,” the movie.
Quirky or mentally declining?
Considering that Biden had numerous gaffes for years, it could be that his humor or weird, archaic expressions do not translate well in today’s world. Could Biden be merely making others think his mental health is declining? There are many possibilities and theories, some recently shared on Reddit.
The online community against Biden’s “Queen” remark
On Reddit, someone wrote a lengthy explanation, “There’s this really interesting problem Republicans have when it comes to painting Joe Biden as senile. It sets a really low bar for him to clear in any public event. Everyone is already aware that he’s old and kind of a goober and has a stutter, so when he gaffs, there are already excuses. It’s really hard to paint a senile old man as a serious threat to your base, despite Biden being incredibly effective.”

One shared that Biden repeating “God save the Queen” means “God helps us all.” This was based on the fact that he repeated the phrase after Trump was elected to enter the White House. Another alleged, “Let’s dispel with this fiction that Biden doesn’t know what he’s doing. He knows exactly what he’s doing.”
Dementia or not?
Someone wrote, “Dementia is not something to make fun of.” Another stated how Biden “will be in a wheelchair by the time he runs again for office, and ill still vote for his a..” And there was always this option, “I think I can clear up the confusion; what he really said was ‘God save the Queen-Man’ he’s obviously trying not to engage in casual misogyny by saying, ‘King.'” What do you think?
