Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Questionable Views on Science, Gender, and Gun Control Spark Intense Debate

Marjorie Taylor Greene shared a post on Twitter where she posed behind the poster, saying, “Trust the science.”

The sign read that there are two genders, male and female, but what is more interesting is how Greene “trusted the science” in the past few years.

Masks compared to Holocaust

Greene, at one point, compared mandatory masks to Holocaust. The Georgia representative had to apologize because that comment did not sit well with anyone, but she did not stop spreading unproven statements as facts during the pandemic.

Representative Brad Schnieder said, “he was pleasantly surprised that she took the time to go to the United States Holocaust Museum.”

Even then, Greene had to make fascinating conclusions

Speaking in front of the Capitol, Green reminded that “all kinds of people” were killed in the Holocaust, adding those were the “people that the Nazis didn’t believe were good enough or perfect enough.”

However, Greene pointed out, “I believe that forced mask and forced vaccines or vaccine passports are a type of discrimination, and I’m very much against that type of discrimination.”

While keeping on with the theme, Greene said during Steve Bannon’s podcast, “They’re ruining our country, these vaccine Nazis.”

Of course, she did not get a vaccine and had a good reason. Greene told the podcast host, “I’m not vaccinated, and I’m not getting vaccinated because I’m an American.”

The anti-abortion Representative also shared, “I can choose what I want to do with my body. I have the freedom to decide if I want to get a vaccine or not get a vaccine.”

Is Greene mocking the science or not?

In a tweet from 24 Mar 2023, less than two years after her bombastic statement regarding Covid masks and vaccines, Greene added a photo standing behind the sign which read, “There are two genders, male and female. “Trust the Science.”

The tweet gathered a million views in less than 24 hours, and the commentators were utterly divided.

One person wrote, “There are bigots, and there are non-bigots.” Another, however, said, “I have been saying this forever. There are only two genders. Male and female.”

Greene wants doctors deported over gender-affirming surgery

It is no secret that Greene is among the loudest Republican lawmakers who have taken action to erase the trans community.

In 2022, she first introduced her Protect Children’s Innocence Act bill. Regarding it, she said, “it will protect children from the heinous and evil ideology that is grooming kids and making a profit off of horrific surgeries that mutilate their genitals.”

Doctors performing surgeries or giving medications would be committing a Class C felony.

Christian values

Taylor Greene also said the bill would prevent “these children and stop a state like California and the monsters and the groomers and the child predators in that state that look to damage them before they ever grow up.”

Of course, she said gender-affirming care does not represent Christian values: “God made children. God made all of us, male and female. In his image, he made us. And God doesn’t make mistakes.”

But what about gun control?

Though some might find it admirable that Greene wants to protect the children, her stance on the second amendment might not reflect her intentions best.

In 2021, she allegedly suggested government volunteers promoting Covid vaccines should be greeted with guns.

After the Uvalde shooting in Texas, Greene tweeted, “America is failing our youngest generations from decades of rejecting good moral values and teachings. We don’t need more gun control. We need to return to God.”
