Trump is “going insane,” caims former Republican congressman Kinzinger

Adam Kinzinger suggested that Trump is going “insane” while on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” and added he was not speaking “metaphorically.”

Cooper asked the Illinois Republican, “Trump’s lawyers claim the former president’s post saying, ‘if you go after me, I’m coming after you’ is just political speech, has nothing to do with the case. I mean, do you buy that?”

It is just “garbage”

Kinzinger swiftly stated, “I mean, it’s garbage, obviously.”

Inside Trump’s mind

The former GOP lawmaker started by explaining how Trump was “really good at saying something, but in a way that you could somehow conceivably, at least with a straight face, argue that you mean something else.” He continued, “You see that through his whole life, through his whole career.”

Trump’s tweeting

Kinzinger pointed out, “Of course, he was sitting around angry, tweeted that out, he’s mad, he’s done other things to threaten, ‘You know, boy, it’s not me, but this could turn really violent if you do this, and this is going to destroy our country,’ and not to mention all the other fake tweets he’s put out where he’s talked about like, America is going to hell, Nancy Pelosi is going to hell..”

Is he losing his mind?

In a bombshell confession, Kinzinger stated, “You see a man that is literally, I think, literally losing his mind. I don’t even mean that metaphorically. I think he’s actually going insane.”

Words can be harmful

He returned Cooper’s original question regarding Free Speech and 1st Amendment. He added, “I don’t think it’s just protected political speech when you make a threat because look, there are people out there that are gonna take that seriously, and they’re gonna take action.”

“I have a number of them, you know, reaching out to me in my office saying that Donald Trump said something bad at me, and they’re taking that literally, and they’re gonna come after me and my 18-month-old kid,” Kinzinger elaborated.

Trump’s mugshot is an “intimidation”

John Bolton commented on Trump’s viral mugshot, telling CNN, “He could’ve smiled. He could’ve looked benign. Instead, he looks like a thug.”

Bolton, who served as national security adviser under Trump, added, “I think it’s intended to be a sign of intimidation against the prosecutors and the judges.”

Following his surrender to the Fulton County authorities, Trump used X and wrote, “Never surrender.” That is also the name of his merch with his mugshot, though the irony was not lost on anyone. Kaitlan Collins said, “I mean, a bit ironic, given he had actually just surrendered at the Fulton County Jail behind me.”

14th Amendment, Section 3

Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution’s 14th Amendment says that a public official is not eligible to assume public office if they “engaged in insurrection or rebellion against” the United States or had “given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof” unless a two-thirds vote of Congress grants them amnesty.

The Constitution is clear, but reality is more challenging

Leading conservative legal scholars argue the 14th Amendment clearly bars Trump from serving a second term. However, they also agreed this would be easier said than done. In the meantime, someone leaked false information that the California governor requested Trump to be removed from the ballot.
