“This is terrorism” – Christians attacked for “hijacking” the airplane with “annoying” religious singing

The video titled “Worshipping our King Jesus 30,000 feet in the air!” went viral, but people argued that the Christians “hijacked” the plane and “imposed” their beliefs.

The group sang on a plane, making it impossible for others to remove themselves

Pastor Jack Jensz Jr. shared the video initially on Twitter and soon went across various social media, though not everyone was as enthusiastic as those who participated in “worshiping our king” in the air.

The pastor shared more about the group that sang

“On this flight, we had our team and our team, we went up to the air host and shared with them what we’ve been doing in Ukraine,” said Jensz, “and we asked them if it’s ok if we could sing a song on the plane.”

Everyone clapped

Jensz added, “The air host asked the pilot, and they both agreed, and the air host then got on the intercom and said to the passengers that we have some people who would like to sing a song. Everyone clapped.”

The pastor called it a “great” moment

Jensz added, “It was a great joyful moment,” and concluded, “I just wanted to clear that up—that’s what happened. May God bless you, and remember, Jesus loves you so much.” But it backlashed, regardless of how good intentions the pastor had.

Twitter, now X, was on fire

The video was shared on an account titled Fifty Shades of Whey, and many commentators were baffled. The caption read, “Imagine you get on a plane and you have to listen to this,” and one X user said, “This is terrorism.”

Another X poster asked for people to take action

Susan at the Shore responded, “Why is this allowed? More importantly, whatever happened to hiding your light? This NEW Christianity is really about imposing one’s beliefs upon another and is becoming pervasive. Be vigilant. I pushed our company to request an employee stop signing her email with Bible verses.”

Some commentators were not as insulted

One woman wrote, “Are we becoming so intolerant that we can’t just ignore something that we dislike? They aren’t hurting anything.” Another added, “I’m not a Christian, and this wouldn’t bother me. I would find it nice that these kids are joyful and singing together.”

Double standards

Someone shared, “Had I been on the plane, I would have been offended. The incident was inappropriate proselytizing before a captive audience. Had a group of Muslims [done] this, they might well have been put on a no-fly list.” Another said, “I’m Christian, and this is incredibly annoying.”

Hard pass

Another X user shared a graph showing the decline in Christianity in the US. Their caption said, “Ooof, hard pass. I love the FML look from the blue shirt guy.”

They had more to say

The poster, whose username is Michael in Cascadia, added, “Thankfully, there will be less of that in public with each passing year. I’m all for people believing what comforts them, but no need to subject others to it in a public space.”

Religious propaganda

A guitar-loving X poster wrote, “The staff should’ve put a stop to this insanity right away. It’s not only causing a disturbance to most passengers but inflicting religious propaganda.”
