In one of the spookiest moments caught on CCTV, a security guard at Finochietto Sanatorium in Buenos Aires greeted a patient who had died several hours before.
The patient comes through the door, shakes hands with the guard, and the two go to a doctor’s office for her appointment.
However, the footage shows a person who died the previous day.
Things only get creepier as the guard checks the woman’s name, only to learn that the person under that name indeed died a day before.
This led to hospital staff in Argentina being left confused and utterly freaked out.
The older woman entered the hospital at 3.36 am on November 11. The guard offered her a wheelchair and did not think much of their interaction.
After not seeing her exit the doctor’s office, he called medics. They claimed they did not see anyone.
Though the story of a “ghost patient” went viral, there might be a less sinister explanation.
A spokesperson for the private care facility later clarified: “It is the door to one of the entrances that are open after hours, it is the entrance to see the duty doctor.”
They added:
“As it was broken, it opened by itself 28 times during the 10 hours between Thursday night and Friday early morning.”
So, what about the guard? Some staff members believe he played a joke on them.
The spokesperson added: “There is no entry record of any person at that time. This gentleman pretends to be writing something, but when you go to the registry, no one appears.”
They concluded: “No one entered, and no one was registered either. But everything is under investigation.”
“People are born and die every day in this sanatorium, so it is very difficult to relate this episode to any death. But it is ruled out, first of all, because we do not have the name of the person who supposedly entered since the man seen in the image did not write anything.”
The lingering question remains: why would a guard make up a story? And do you think there might be a “ghost patient,” but the hospital is covering up the account for unknown reasons? Drop a comment, and help the world solve this spine-chilling mystery.
