Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke to former White House press secretary Jen Psaki on MSNBC about Trump’s indictment and more.
Pelosi was straightforward
Pelosi told Psaki, “Here’s a president who has been twice impeached, multi-times indicted, we don’t know how many it will be, defeated once – I think he’s very seriously damaged goods.”
More accusations
She continued by sharing that “We have to do everything to make sure that a person so frivolous with our democracy, so jeopardizing of our national security, so disrespectful of our rule of law, would (never) be president of the United States once again.”
Opposing health care
Psaki further told Mitchell, “What [Pelosi] was saying in her answer there is that regardless of what Donald Trump has said or hasn’t said about an abortion ban, he is somebody who Democrats should run against as opposing women’s rights, opposing women’s access to health care.”

Pelosi is cautious
Despite all potential charges and current ones, Pelosi is cautious. The former House Speaker said she could not claim he cannot reenter the White House since she “never thought he could win the first time.”
The charges against Trump
The two continued talking about criminal charges against Trump. Pelosi pointed out that some of the alleged classified documents in the Mar-a-Lago investigation were the highest level classifications possible.
Psaki expressed her concerns
The journalist and host asked Pelosi, “Knowing what you know about former President Donald Trump, we know he has an affection for dictators,” Psaki said, and asked, “Do you have a concern, without us knowing at this point, of what he may have wanted to do with those documents?”
Pelosi did not respond directly
Considering the case is awaiting trial, the California representative and long-term Democrat kept things vague. However, she alleged that Trump “seriously jeopardized our national security,” calling it “very irresponsible.”
Trump’s actions were “very irresponsible”
“Our intelligence community takes risks for us all the time, and to jeopardize their lives, their families, the sources they may have interacted with is a very dangerous thing – very irresponsible,” Pelosi said.
Pelosi believes Trump knew
She added, “And by his own public statements before he was president, and as president, he knew that.”
Democrats should use Trump’s claims he overturned Roe v. Wade
Pelosi talked to Psaki about Trump and explained that Trump’s attempt to take credit for the Dobbs decision to overturn Roe v. Wade should be weaponized by her party. Psaki asked, “Is this something Democrats should be hanging around Trump’s neck more?” while referring to Trump’s Truth Social post.
The hypocrisy
Pelosi responded, “First of all, it’s the hypocrisy of the first order. But without going into his, shall we say, inconsistencies, to use a gentler word, yeah, that’s what he’s saying. And I think that has clarity.”
