A judge limited Trump’s social media use following his fourth indictment related to RICO charges, and people are taunting the former president to ignore all the rules.
The judge’s order
“The Defendant shall perform no act to intimidate any person known to him or her to be a codefendant or witness in this case or to otherwise obstruct the administration of justice,” says the order issued by Fulton County Superior Judge Scott McAfee.
Social media posts included
It adds, “The above shall include, but are not limited to, posts on social media or reposts of posts made by another individual on social media.”
Good luck with that
Even legal experts agreed that this is one order that could hurt Trump’s legal team. U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan warned everyone involved to take “special care” regarding statements that would intimidate or influence jurors or witnesses. The only problem is that anything said can and will be used against them.
People are amused
A Reddit poster commented on this news, writing, “Are you just going to sit there and let them tell you what to do, like some sort of beta, Trump? Get those thumbs going.” In response, someone said, “Yeah. Nobody should be limiting President Baby’s screen time.” The third chimed in, “Come on, Trumplethinskin. Don’t let us down. Ignore these orders.”

Someone shared, “Drumpf is like a 9-year-old who won’t stop misbehaving until you take away their electronics.” This person has no faith in the former president, “He won’t abide by it, he can’t resist spewing B.S. on social media.”

One person was also less than optimistic, “Here comes the MAGA wave of claims that they’re hindering his free speech with this order.”

This Reddit poster shared, “Wait, you mean to tell me that I can’t legally say whatever I want whenever I want 100% of the time, no matter the consequences? What do you mean I have no idea what the concept of ‘free speech’ actually means? (insert threats of violence here.)”

One person wrote, “He’ll just have other people get on social media and casually encourage acts of violence.” A Reddit user joked, “Easier taking the man’s thumbs.” This Reddit user wrote, “Imagine wanting to give matters of national security to someone that can’t be trusted to handle social media safely.”

Someone asked, “Seems everyone is in agreement he will violate this. The question is, will there be any meaningful consequences if when he does?”

Someone stated, “I hope they had him surrender his Passport as well so that it’s tougher for him to flee the country if it starts to go against him (as I hope it will).” The response was brutal, “Worse, they should make him update his passport with the height and weight measured at his booking.”

Whit Ayres, a long-time GOP strategist, declared, “No one has been able to manage Donald Trump, including Donald Trump.”
Hopelessness
Ayres added, “The effort to do so is virtually hopeless. I can’t imagine being his defense attorney in one of these trials. You’d have to drink a case of Maalox every morning just to get through the day.”
