Megyn Kelly’s guest, Sage Steele, blasted ESPN over “holding back tears” while discussing overturning Roe but staying silent on transgender athletes.
Kelly’s guest was former ESPN sports broadcaster

Kelly and Steele slammed current hosts from ESPN for “holding back tears” while talking about overturning Roe v. Wade but staying silent on transgender athletes competing in female sports.
Steele was “disgusted”

Steele said she was “disgusted” with her former coworkers for not speaking up about the issue.
The two joined forces on The Megyn Kelly Show

Kelly told her guest, “My daughter is 12. If she shows up to a soccer game and there is a boy on the other team – we’re out of there.”
Kelly is protective

Kelly added, “There is zero chance I will let her play – I don’t care who I offend. There’s no way. And I recommend parents do the same thing because your kid actually could get hurt.”
The tears

Kelly continued, “Where’s her tearful diatribe for my daughter – and the daughters of America right now who are getting hurt when playing against biological boys?” Steele agreed and added, “This isn’t even controversial. This is stupid that it’s even a topic with trans-biological men trying to play sport with women… it is a load of c..p.”
The tears

Steele pointed out how ESPN anchor Malika Andrews was almost in tears as she reported that “women’s reproductive rights were being taken away.”
“Why are they crying about abortion on the set of ESPN?”

Then she asked, “She’s holding back tears. Where’s her tearful diatribe for my daughter and the daughters of America right now who are getting hurt when playing against biological boys? Why are they crying about abortion on the set of ESPN?”
Steele on current ESPN hosts

Steele stated, “The fact that they are all silent disgusts me because of how vocal they were about, let’s say, the overturning of Roe v Wade and women’s rights.” She continued, “This is one issue that I feel like if we came together as women, just sports broadcasters – female – this would go away.”
Steele’s conclusion

The former ESPN host shared, “We are giving away our power with it, and to me – we are going to regret this. We’re choosing the wrong time to be silent. I feel obligated, with my platform, whatever that looks like right now, as a sportscaster for 28 years, to talk about this openly and stop ignoring it.”
Steele and ESPN

Steele and ESPN settled a lawsuit over an alleged violation of her free-speech rights. She came to Kelly to discuss the alleged toxic environment at the company. The former ESPN anchor told the ex-Fox News host, “When you try to silence me, I’m done.” She also talked about Covid vaccine and former President Obama.
Kelly also played a clip of a powerlifter

The conversation about trans athletes in women’s sports was, this time, prompted by Anne Andres, a 40-year-old transgender powerlifter who set all-time record at the Canadian Powerlifting Union’s 2023 Western Canadian Championship. Kelly’s show shared a clip of Andres to prove why trans athletes do not belong in female categories.
Kelly and Steele laughed

The duo kept misgendering Andres, adding that the angle of the footage was “unflattering” and Kelly concluding, “You gotta laugh because it’s comical.”
