Trump called The Supreme Court to “intercede” into “weak lawsuits” against him even though legal proceedings against him haven’t even begun.

The former president wrote on Truth Social, “CRAZY!” and then shared his frustrations with DOJ, the FBI, etc. He wrote, “My political opponent has hit me with a barrage of weak lawsuits, including D.A., A.G., and others, which require massive amounts of my time & money to adjudicate.”

The former president repeated some of his earlier claims

The 45th president, on his third indictment, further said, “Resources that would have gone into Ads and Rallies will now have to be spent fighting these Radical Left Thugs in numerous courts throughout the Country. I am leading in all Polls, including against Crooked Joe, but this is not a level playing field. It is Election Interference, & the Supreme Court must intercede.” He ended the message with, “MAGA!”

The Supreme Court usually takes on significant decisions regarding the elections, with one of them being in 2000, in Bush vs. Gore. It is unclear how the Supreme Court could help Trump now.

In a separate post, Trump wrote, “Biden & Garland file bogus cases against me, so it becomes difficult for me to campaign. Nothing like this has ever happened before.” He wondered, “Must be Unconstitutional?” The former president kept his spirit high by adding, “BUT SOMEHOW, WE WILL WIN IT ALL!!!”

Trump called Washington DC “anti-Trump” and argued the case should be moved to “an impartial Venue, such as the politically unbiased nearby State of West Virginia!”

Virginia is not an accidental choice

Trump won Virginia by 30 points in 2020. He also shared it would be “IMPOSSIBLE” to get a fair trial in D.C. just hours before appearing in the courtroom near Capitol Hill. The former president pleaded not guilty to four counts of the indictment.

“We’re looking for a more diverse area that has a more balanced political jury pool,” John Lauro told NPR, adding, “And West Virginia was a state that was more evenly divided” than D.C.

Enter Mike Pence

Lauro also told NBC, “What President Trump had was an actual opinion of counsel that his request to Vice President Pence was completely lawful and completely constitutional.”

Trump’s defense attorney then threw in attorney John Eastman, saying, “You had one of the leading constitutional scholars in the U.S., John Eastman, say to President Trump, ‘This is a protocol that you can follow, it’s legal.'” Lauro explained, “That eliminates criminal intent.”

Eastman’s attorney issued a statement

Eastman’s legal team issued a statement saying that Jack Smith’s latest indictment “relies on a misleading presentation of the record to contrive criminal charges against Presidential candidate Trump and to cast ominous aspersions on his close advisors.”

Eastman’s lawyer also confirmed that his client was mentioned in the indictment against Trump as “Co-Conspirator 2” and said, “If Dr. Eastman is indicted, he will go to trial. If convicted, he will appeal.”
